Nova Southeastern University has a vision to transform the future of how health care leaders are educated while simultaneously providing easier access to high-quality services for patients. This vision is shared by Tampa Bay cardiologist, entrepreneur, community leader and philanthropist Dr. Kiran C. Patel and his wife, pediatrician and philanthropist Dr. Pallavi Patel – so much so that they have provided the largest transformational gifts in the history of NSU.
Thanks to two philanthropic gifts and financial commitments totaling approximately $225 million ($75 million in gifts and $150 million in real estate and facility investment) the Patels have made a significant impact on NSU. The Patels’ generosity has led to the renaming of three NSU colleges and expanded NSU’s ability to educate highly-qualified physicians and health care professionals who understand how the medical disciplines can and must work together. These future leaders will represent the cultural diversity of our region, our nation and our world so that they can better serve their patients and communities.
