Undergraduate students who are transferring to Nova Southeastern University from another college or university, regardless of number of credits obtained, are considered Transfer Applicants. Students who are dual enrolled in college and high school concurrently are considered Freshman Applicants.
Transfer Applicants are welcome to experience the traditional day or evening programs at our Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus, attend classes at one of our Regional Campuses or online.
Step 1 – Submit an Application for Admissions
Transfer applicants have two ways to apply:*
1) NSU Shark Select Transfer Application, or
2) The Common Application
3) Students interested in Nursing, Applied Professional Studies, Cardiovascular Sonography, Medical Sonography, Recreational Therapy, or Respiratory Therapy must submit an application for admission using the specific Nova Southeastern University application found by clicking here.
A non-refundable $50 application is required either for the NSU Shark Select Application or the Common Application.
* Students interested in Nursing, Applied Professional Studies, Cardiovascular Sonography, Medical Sonography, Recreational Therapy, or Respiratory Therapy must submit an application for admission using the specific Nova Southeastern University application found by clicking here.
Step 2 – Official Transcripts
Request that official transcripts from all current and previous schools and/or institutions be sent directly to NSU. For applicants with less than 24 college credits, please send official high school transcripts. It is also possible that official test scores may be requested of those with less than 24 college credits. Please send to:

Step 3 – Submit SAT/ACT Scores
If requested, please submit the official SAT or ACT score report directly from the testing agency.** NSU super scores both the SAT and ACT so if you take the exam more than once, you must submit all of your test scores to ensure we have your best and highest composite scores on record. NSU currently only considers the critical reading and math score for the SAT. For the ACT, NSU does not utilize the optional writing section.
Veteran student applicants will also be required to submit a copy of their DD-214 and Military Training Records.
Fall Application for Transfer Applicants
Priority Date for the Fall 2018 class: April 1, 2018
To be considered a transfer applicant, you must have college credits completed at a regionally-accredited college after graduating high school. A maximum of 90 credit hours from regionally-accredited institutions can be counted toward a degree.

Phi Theta Kappa Award
New transfer students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa will receive an additional $1,000 added to their Dean's scholarship. Students must indicate on their application for admission that they are a member of Phi Theta Kappa and show proof of their membership.
Based on the past academic achievement $3,000 to $15,000 per year award determined by previous grades at college level. Transfer Evaluation Services
Learn more about NSU's policies on transfer credit, examinations, prior experience and the process for requesting transfer credit at the Office of Transfer Evaluation Services website. (TES) provides services to undergraduate students who wish to transfer credits to NSU and to students who wish to obtain college credits for learning experiences outside the class room. You may also use the Transfer Credit System tool to find out how your credits may transfer into NSU!
Dual Admission is a Premier Program and has a competitive selection process. Not all Dual Admission programs will accept Transfer Students. Please refer to our Dual Admission website for specific information.
Transfer students interested must complete an application for admissions AND submit the following information:
Fall 2018 Dual Admission applicants must apply by February 1. All candidates submitting completed applications by the Priority Date will be considered. We encourage all students interested in the Dual Admission Program to apply early to meet all necessary deadlines.
All non-degree seeking applicants should submit an application for admission (and transcripts from their most recently attended institution). In addition to application materials, be sure to submit the NSU Transfer Form.
Students interested in any Abraham S. Fischler College of Education Certificate Programs (Child Development Associate Credential or Florida Director Credential) should follow the application instructions here.

Clyde Lewis is originally from the twin island nation of Trinidad and Tobago and has been living in South Florida since 1997. He is currently working on a Doctoral degree in Education at Nova Southeastern University. His education also includes an M.S. in Human Resource Management from Nova Southeastern University and a B.S. in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University. Prior to joining the world of higher education, Clyde held roles as an advocate for the elderly, chaired an international charity organization, and worked as a human resources manager. Clyde’s take on what makes NSU unique is the attention paid to detail in designing the academic curriculum. Input is often solicited from employers with the intent of producing graduates who meet their professional expectations.Clyde conducts monthly visits at Miami Dade College and is eager to assist you on your path to the joining the NSU experience. Daryl earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Nova Southeastern University, as well as a Master's degree in Human Resource Management from NSU. Daryl's favorite tradition at NSU are events sponsored by Student Activities. Daryl feel strongly that NSU is a great place to be grounded in real-world research and academic experience. As an alumnus of NSU, he has realized his potential. NSU prepared Daryl to anticipate the challenges of graduate school and the workforce. NSU’s approach to education fosters students and propels students to carry out their own research designs and studies. Students are also encouraged to become participants in psychological studies. An education at NSU is truly one of a kind. Beyond the classroom, NSU's Career Development prepared Daryl for career success. Dacia recently moved to South Florida from New Hampshire, having previously worked an as admissions counselor for the New Hampshire Institute of Art and Montserrat College of Art. Dacia has her BFA degree from Montserrat College of Art where she focused her studies on mixed media painting and fused glass sculpture. She was a Resident Assistant and also did a travel study trip to Paris while attending college. She is excited to enjoy the beautiful beaches and warm weather with her two dogs here in South Florida. Dacia's favorite aspect of NSU is the small class sizes and extra curricular activities. "Having an average class size of 14, students really get to know the faculty and each other. Also, you can't beat having the Miami Dolphins as your college football team!"
